The department and its faculty remain dedicated to providing a supportive learning environment where quality teaching and student success are at the forefront.
Being a small-sized program, housed within a state learning institution has provided a unique atmosphere for the degree program, yet also provides some extremely challenging circumstances when it comes to financing facilities, equipment, and even faculty positions. In recent years, this situation has become ever more daunting now that the State of Kansas only provides an approximate 21% of Kansas State University’s total operating budget. A very small percentage of which the degree program receives annually.
As we implement a program in support of the new Master’s Degree, we intend to continue to push the limits of innovative and creative techniques in design, in further advancement of the program and the profession. In order to do this successfully, we desperately need the assistance of our colleagues and industry partners now more than ever before.
Our program has survived and our students have achieved so much success due in part to our abilities to problem solve given modest resources. We will continue to do this, but we need your support.
